Answers to Your Questions: FAQ's on Laser
Hair Removal
What are the most popular areas for laser hair
removal? The most popular treatment areas for females include upper lip, general face and bikini line. The majority of men receive treatment
for back and shoulder hair. Although these tend to be the most popular, a great number of people also receive treatment on their arms, hands,
legs, stomach, neck and more. If you are interested in a specific area, speak to our laser hair specialist to determine if it is an
option for you.
Who performs the
procedure? The procedure is performed in a medical office by a qualified nurse, under the supervision of Vito C.
Quatela, MD, FACS.
How many treatments will I need? The number of treatments required depends upon your skin color and coarseness of
the hair. Everyone will require at least 4-6 treatments as the process is only
effective on hair during the early growing cycle. Repeat sessions will be
necessary to treat these follicles when they re-enter the early growth phase.
What precautions should be taken before and after the treatment?
- Avoid the sun 4-6 weeks before and after treatment or until your
practitioner allows it. This is why the fall and winter are the best times of year to receive your treatment series.
- You must avoid electrolysis, plucking or waxing hair for 6 weeks prior to
treatment.
- If you have had a history of perioral herpes (cold sores), prophylactic
antiviral therapy may be prescribed.
- If you have a dark skin type, a skin lightener may be started 4-6 weeks
before treatment to optimize results.

Answers to Your Questions: FAQ's on
Photorejuvenation
What does it treat? From rosacea, fine lines, age spots and broken capillaries to
enlarged pores, coarse skin and hyperpigmentation, IPL Photorejuvenation
eliminates the signs of aging while restoring a youthful smoothness with high
satisfaction.
What are my treatment options? The IPL Photorejuvenation program
generally consists of four to six treatment sessions at three-week intervals.
Similar to many medical spa services, a typical session lasts about 1 hour so
you can actually schedule an appointment during your lunch hour.
Why is it for me? Another reason why IPL Photorejuvenation is so
successful is that it is a true "multi-tasker." It improves redness and broken
blood vessels, erases age spots and areas of skin discoloration, as well as
reaching down to the level of collagen to enhance your skin tone and texture.
More effective than creams and medications, IPL Photorejuvenation also offers
relief from the symptoms of rosacea, including flushing. Furthermore, results
are excellent on other sensitive body areas, like the back of your hands, chest
and neck. This versatility sets IPL Photorejuvenation apart from any other
treatment approach.
